Amazon.com Review Jumbo, Captain Jim, and the Fisher-Price GeoTrax Rail and Road System GeoAir High Flying Airport let any child explore the fast paced world of flight. As a stand-alone set or a complement to other GeoTrax systems, this airport set is sure to inspire tons of imaginary play. Designed for kids aged two-and-one-half years of age or older, this set snaps together securely. and the components are easy for little fingers to handle. | What We Think Fun Factor:
Durability: (what this means)
The Good: Colorful, durable set with a looping track
The Bad: Only one figure and vehicle
In a Nutshell:This airport set is sure to inspire imaginative adventures | At a Glance Ages: 2.5 years and older Requires: 6 AAA batteries | | |
Jumbo snaps securely to the track. View larger. |
The remote control fits perfectly in little hands. View Larger. | High-Flying Fun Getting ready for your child's first flight couldn't be easier. With slide-lock air track pieces that are simple to put together, assembly only takes a few minutes. Kids are sure to be impressed by the bright colors and the twisting track right away. Before take-off you'll need to use a Philips head screwdriver to install six AAA batteries (not included) -- three in Jumbo the jet and three in the remote control. Then snap Jumbo onto the track and set him in motion. The remote control has two buttons, so kids can set Jumbo spinning forward or backward on the air track loop. Designed to be easy for kids to grasp with two hands, the controller is shaped like a real plane's controller for increased fun. Durable, Colorful, and Easy-to-Expand It's easy to see why the GeoTrax system is a big hit with both parents and kids. A durable, colorful set that promises to jump-start active imaginations, the High Flyin' Airport offers stations around the base of the tower to inspire adventures below the air track. Kids can fill up a gas tank, set stairs for passengers to board a plane, or keep an eye on the security gate. The Pilot Jim figure can sit inside the Jumbo plane, ride the moving elevator to the top of the control tower, or wait for a train ride home. And the plane itself can be pushed along or driven with the remote control, providing lots of options for creative play. When friends, siblings, and parents want to get involved in the action, they may be disappointed that this set only includes one vehicle and one figure. But since the airport is compatible with other sets in the GeoTrax system, you can expand it to create a whole GeoTrax community with more vehicles, figures, and places for them to visit. Whether you have one set or many, GeoTrax offer a great opportunity for future pilots and engineers to play alone or cooperatively. What's in the Box Main tower, terminal base, traffic control top, loading station, air track with tabs, air track with support, four standard air track pieces, security gate, trestle base, trestle post, remote control, Jumbo jet, and pilot Jim figure.
Product Description Kids' imaginations can reach for the skies as they create their very own GeoTrax world. The GeoAir High Flyin' Airport brings an all-new way to expand the GeoTrax world. With so many ways to play, this set includes a main tower with a kid-activated elevator, three bays where the plane can fuel up, fix up and board passengers, a security gate and drop-off platform, and the most "elite" team in all of GeoTown -- Eagle 1 R/C jet plane and his pilot Captain Wright. The pilot figure can sit and ride right inside the plane. GeoAir R/C planes simply clip onto the flexible GeoAir track and fly around the entire set, doing loops, swoops and daredevil dives. Activate the plane and sound effects using the easy-to-operate kid controls on the new R/C controller. With this set, connect the nine included pieces to form ten feet of GeoAir track; then attach it to the tower and runway to form a "figure nine." You can expand your GeoAir set in two ways: connect the GeoAir track to another GeoAir site, or connect the GeoTrax ground track to the entire GeoTrax rail and road world. Additional GeoAir sets sold separately. Requires six "AAA" batteries, not included. Measures 36"L x 15"W x 33"H.

Grandson Gift January 6, 2009 Joyous My grandson loves Geo-trax toys and spends hours with his train and now with the airport. It adds one more dimension to the play. It is easy for him to play with and work.
So-So January 6, 2009 Kristina O'connor (Carlsbad, CA United States) Fairly easy to assemble. I had a problem snapping the tower into the base but I finally got it in. Not sure that it will hold the attention span long enough to make it worth the money. I guess if you had some of the other things to attach it to, but then you would spend even more money. My 2 yr old (who LOVES airplanes) was thrilled Xmas a.m. but hasn't touched it since--12 days ago. Hope he goes back to it.
Fun toy, but need accessories January 6, 2009 WDMMOM (Iowa) This is a really fun, cute toy. However, it gets pretty boring after 10 minutes or so. We bought this for our 2 1/2 yr old for Christmas.....love that the remote is easy to use and the plane stays on the track securely. Every friend that has come over...loves to play with it. BUT, like I said...they all lose interest after about 10 min. It is boring b/c the plane just goes in one loop. I'm sure it will be really cool and hold more interest if we had some of the add-on parts. We just didn't want to invest that much in smething we weren't sure he was going to have fun with. We'll probably get some expansion pieces and hope we get more playtime out of it.
a big hit with grandson January 6, 2009 Nanny in TX (Dallas, TX USA) This was an instant hit with my grandson who is almost 3 years old. He knew exactly how it worked, helped put it together and was playing with it along with his older brothers in just a couple of minutes! It was another perfect extension to an already big GeoTrax city. For his birthday I bought another plane.
So much fun December 31, 2008 KYGirl Wonderful addition to the Geo World. My children have had so much fun playing with this, we also have the bridge expansion piece to connect this to all of the Geo train stuff we own and this is the remote they all grab first.
