Amazon.com Product Description The date is 1974. The place is Budapest, Hungary. Erno Rubik, an admirer of geometry and 3-D forms creates the world's most perfect -- and addictive -- puzzle. More than three decades later the Rubik's cube is still one of the best selling brainteasers. Whether it was full size or the smaller keychain version almost every child had this puzzle by in 1980 when it found worldwide success. Elementary school kids were seen solving it with their feet on "That's Incredible!", conspiracy theorists believed it was an Eastern bloc tactic to distract American youth from getting an education, and Cubaholics Anonymous was formally established to help cure the compulsive need to solve it. | | Each side is just over 2", while each sticker is about " square. | For all of the hullabaloo, the Rubik's Cube actually has a pretty straightforward premise. The faces of the cube are covered by nine stickers in six solid colors (one for each 2.25" side); when the puzzle is solved, each face is one solid color. Then you realize as you turn the rows and columns and see all the colors flash by that there are 43 quintillion possible pattern combinations (that's 43 million millions), but just one right one. Maybe Cubaholics Anonymous wasn't such a bad idea after all
. This Rubik's Cube has reflective red, white, blue, yellow, green, and orange colored stickers with an official twenty-fifth anniversary sticker in the center white square. The cube is packaged in a clear hexagon box and includes a black display stand. There is also a solutions hint and game suggestion book, just in case.

Too stiff! January 7, 2009 Val (RI) For a toy this specific, there isn't much to say- everyone knows what a Rubik's Cube is and what it does. I only have one gripe. It's uncomfortably stiff. There is a somewhat easy solution-Vaseline! Just break apart each corner of the cube, grease it up and put the pieces back together. It works MUCH better now, but will probably need to reapply every few months depending on how often you play with the cube. Quality wise it is certainly not as durable as the more expensive ones, but for the price, it will do I guess.
What's there to say? January 6, 2009 J. Thomas (NJ) Classic puzzle toy. Only trouble I had was sometimes it would lock up in one direction if everything wasn't lined up perfect. Spinning it in the other direction would be enough to get everything in line.
The best cube of them all January 5, 2009 Alex L (MA) This is definitely the most fun of all the rubik's cube. I own a 2x2, 3x3, 4x4, and 5x5, and I always enjoy solving this one. They're great fun trying to speed solve, yet they still prove a challenge in all the different varieties of ways to be mixed up. You can pick it up and be done with in within minutes and still be entertained. Once you get to the higher up cubes, it takes a bit more time, but they're fun as well. There's just nothing like the original 3x3.
Its a Rbik's Cube December 29, 2008 J. Cecil The title sums it up very well. This is a fun puzzle to play with and try to solve. Other reviewers have complained that this cube is very fragile. However, if you are gentle with it, it will stay together. My cube is not falling apart and the stickers are staying on, because I take good care of it. So, if you are looking for a fun and challenging puzzle to solve, you need to look no further than the Rubik's Cube.
Great toy for a vacation December 24, 2008 Madhu Guru This toy is one of the best selling puzzles in the world. It is very strong and usually never brakes. If you are on vacation, you can use this if you are bored. Although there might be hints in the box, there is a better way of solving this. Go to www.youtube.com and type "How to solve a rubix cube, and click the first one. I really recommend this toy to people who love puzzles and challenges.
