Baby's First Blocks December 30, 2008 Jane Maven (WI USA) These blocks were a great first block and grabbing toy for my infant son. Their large size, bright colors, and interactive play (sounds when you shake the blocks, one that squeaks, etc.) is great. They do not stack all that well, as they are cloth, but for a younger infant they work well.
8 Month old loves these blocks!!! August 28, 2008 PDudish (New Jersey) My 8 month old loves these blocks. He can easily grab them and has learned that they each make a different type of noise. He shakes the one that has a rattle inside and loves to squish the one that makes a crinkly noise. These are a great educational toy for a baby. My son started to play with them around 6 months old and is just as excited at 8 months when he sees the blocks. I would definitely suggest this toy.
Better wash this toy before baby puts in mouth!! July 12, 2008 Stefanie (Tucson, AZ) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I was dismayed to find that this product reeked of fire retardants which took several washings and sitting outside in the sun for over a week to get rid of. When will makers of baby toys realize that these things go in baby's mouth and the chemicals that they put on them or that are on the fabric that are used to make these things are toxic? Many may not realize that the bromine that is in these fire retardants is toxic to the body and can cause thyroid issues among other problems. Unfortunately, it's in everything from car seats to crib bedding to these simple blocks. From now on I will pay the extra price and go for organic! Paying a little extra now is better than paying an outrageous hospital bill when your child develops an illness due to ingesting chemical after chemical in the toys and elsewhere.
3 out of 4 are fun... May 31, 2008 DesertKnight (Phoenix, AZ USA) Each of these blocks are supposed to make noise--one "crinkles," two have bells, and one has a "squeaker." The squeaker is utterly useless--I can barely get the thing to make noise; my baby has no chance. The manufacturer either needs to come up with a much better squeaker, or just put bells in it. My 6-month-old likes playing with the ones that make noise, but the squeaker gets ignored.
Great Fun January 5, 2008 A Green (Michigan) My soon to be two year old loves these blocks and has since we bought them a few months back. They can be held by a child and the colors and sounds also help to keep his attention. Definately worth the price for the enjoyment it has bought.
